Fractions Made Simple

Fractions are just pieces of something! Think of a pizza cut into slices.

The top number (numerator) tells you how many slices you have. The bottom number (denominator) tells you how many slices the pizza was cut into.

Equivalent fractions: 1/2 is the same as 2/4 is the same as 3/6. You just multiply top and bottom by the same number!

Adding fractions with the same bottom number is easy: just add the top numbers. 1/4 + 2/4 = 3/4.

💡 Examples

1/2 of a pizza:Half the pizza - 4 out of 8 slices
1/4 + 2/4:3/4 (just add the tops: 1 + 2 = 3)
2/3 equivalent:4/6 or 6/9 (multiply top and bottom)
