Charts and Graphs

Data is information, and charts help us see patterns in that information quickly.

Bar charts are great for comparing things. Each bar shows a different category. The taller the bar, the bigger the value.

Pie charts show parts of a whole - like slices of a (you guessed it) pie! All the slices add up to 100%.

Line graphs are perfect for showing how things change over time, like temperature during the day.

Bar chart:Favourite colours in your class - each colour gets a bar

Pie chart:How you spend your day: sleep, school, play, eating

Line graph:Your height measured every year from age 5 to 11
