Probability for Beginners

Probability is about how likely something is to happen. It goes from 0 (impossible) to 1 (certain).

If you flip a coin, there are 2 possible outcomes: heads or tails. Each has a probability of 1/2 or 50%.

A standard dice has 6 faces. The probability of rolling a 3 is 1/6 because there's 1 three out of 6 possible numbers.

You can write probability as a fraction, decimal, or percentage: 1/4 = 0.25 = 25%.

💡 Examples

Coin flip:P(heads) = 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%
Dice roll:P(rolling a 6) = 1/6
Even on dice:P(even) = 3/6 = 1/2 (because 2, 4, 6 are even)
