2D Shapes All Around Us

Shapes are everywhere! Once you start looking, you'll see them in buildings, nature, and even your food.

A triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners (vertices). The angles inside always add up to 180 degrees.

Quadrilaterals have 4 sides. Squares, rectangles, trapeziums, and parallelograms are all quadrilaterals!

Regular shapes have all sides the same length and all angles the same. A regular hexagon (6 sides) is found in honeycombs!

💡 Examples

Triangle angles:60 + 60 + 60 = 180 (equilateral)
Rectangle vs Square:A square is a special rectangle where all sides are equal
Hexagon in nature:Bee honeycombs are made of regular hexagons
